WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role sits within the North America Kids Direct Stores merchandising team—a dynamic, deeply collaborative group focused on creating consumer-first assortments that elevate the Kid Athlete. The Senior Buyer Merchant reports to the Global Merchandising Manager of Kids Direct and partners across Product, Geography Merchants, Nike Digital, Planning, Allocation, Retail Brand, and Visual Merchandising.

Required Qualifications
  • Open to work at PHK (Nike World Headquarters) in Portland, Oregon Metro Area
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer and marketplace dynamics
  • Proficiency in analyzing business and consumer trends; strong verbal and written communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll build consumer-led assortments and strategic line plans that drive growth, strengthen brand distinction, and unlock market opportunity for Kids Footwear and Apparel. Your work shapes the future of Kids at Nike—through insight-driven planning, franchise focus, and cross-functional excellence.

Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Geography Merchants, Nike Digital, Planning, Allocation, Retail Brand, and Visual Merchandising to create holistic, consumer-right assortments
  • Curate assortments built on Classic, Modern, and Future ecosystems to amplify brand distinction
  • Declare and prioritize key franchises, ensuring flow strategies that keep the marketplace fresh and aligned to supply chain needs
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive 3–5 year product lifecycle roadmap
  • Integrate head-to-toe Apparel stories into Footwear journeys to maximize consumer impact
  • Partner with Global and Geo Sport teams to identify, nurture, and drive brand- and business-critical franchises
  • Lead with a consumer-first mindset, ensuring every product moment connects with purpose and clarity
